A Quick Word With Stuart Reeman

I was fortunate enough to have a quick word with Tasmanian artist Stuart Reeman and asked him to briefly describe his works. Here's what he had to say:

"The portraits I do are about depicting a person in a moment that belongs to them. So that if it were you there in my place, you too would be drawn to them.

To me a portrait is as much about someone's chosen hairstyle, the clothes they wear and how they carry themselves as it is about their eyes or smile. And above all else, it's about how light hits them.

This is just one side of what I do. I do illustrations which range from a $50 caricature to toast someone for their birthday, to pet portraits or personalised designs to take to a tattooist."
